Nikyta weaves her background in story telling and poetry with twenty five years of yoga and mindfulness instruction. She braids these threads into embodied mindfulness experiences that are seasonal, place based, and anchor vitality and resilience within the physical and tangible breathing body of person and planet.

Nikyta has worked with all kinds of practitioners throughout her career: from high end celebrities to homeless youth, elders to everyday people.
She has teaching certificates in Indra Devi Hatha, Astanga yoga, Restorative yoga, Street Yoga, and Chair Yoga. Nikyta spent a decade of practice in traditional Astanga Yoga teaching and apprenticing with master teachers Tim Miller, Patabi Jois and her beloved teachers, Christina Allen and Geri Portnoy in Anusara Yoga.
Nikyta currently teaches on Lopez Island, WA in the USA offering classes at Midnight Farm’s straw bale & solar powered little cathedral Downdog Studio a Vinyasa class on Saturday morning at 9:30- 11 am. Please RSVP to nikytapalmisani@gmail.com to reserve your space.

Nikyta will be traveling Jan 14- 21, 2026 and jan 26- Feb 23, 2026 – there will be no physical classes taught on Lopez at that time.

In the summers, Nikyta combines placed based plant knowledge with yoga by teaching at the Whispers of Nature Medicinal Herb Garden Labyrinth. In these classes, Nikyta focuses on one herb that grows on the labyrinth per class and combines its medicinal proprieties with mirrored qualities from yoga. For example, when the echinacea is blooming might practitioners walk the labyrinth and interact with the flowers as the many varieties of bees pollenate them. Then in the following yoga class would have a focus on asanas and practices with a focus on immune system support.

It is a priority for Nikyta to create woven containers of community care that extend from the human to the more than human world, and that honor the many brilliant stewards of our lands and spaces. She is deeply inspired and honored by the work of Nick and Susie Teague, who built and maintain the Whispers of Nature Labyrinth (pictured above), and Faith Van De Putte and David Bill, the phenomenal stewards of Midnight’s Farm– a Climate Farm School and regenerative farm that has branches in many climate solutions that edify and nourish our community and world (pictured below).
